The safeTALK course is a half day suicide prevention course - more information below. The course is delivered face to face and I will be co-delivering with a safeTALK Master Trainer. Using two qualified trainers to facilitate, ensures group safety and excellent delivery standards.
safeTalk helps participants become alert to suicide. Suicide-alert people are better prepared to connect persons with thoughts of suicide with life-affirming help. Over the course of their training, safeTALK
o Notice and respond to situations where suicide thoughts may be present,
o Recognize that invitations for help are often overlooked,
o Move beyond the common tendency to miss, dismiss, and avoid suicide,
o Apply the TALK steps: Tell, Ask, Listen, KeepSafe, and
o Know community resources and how to connect someone with thoughts of suicide to them for further suicide-safer help.
Each participant will receive a certificate, a wallet-sized reference card plus a resource pack with information about sources of support for people having suicidal thoughts.
