This course provides an introduction to disability awareness and aims to promote a more inclusive workplace. It covers the social model of disability, etiquette when interacting with people with disabilities, accessibility practices, and anti-discrimination laws in the UK.
By the end of this course, participants will:
Understand the social model of disability and how it differs from the medical model
Learn appropriate language and etiquette when interacting with people with disabilities
Gain awareness of various types of disabilities and health conditions
Understand the barriers faced by people with disabilities in workplace
Learn about reasonable adjustments and accessibility practices in the workplace,
Know their rights and responsibilities under the Equality Act 2010 and other UK disability laws
Be able to confidently interact with and include people with disabilities
